JOB HISTORY

2000-2007 - Large Resorts, Medical Center - Since the turn of the century Geary Construction has provided considerable excavation work in the rapidly expanding Summit County commercial real estate business.  This boom market started in preparation for the 2002 Olympics and continued strongly until the economy's downturn.  Geary Construction principally subcontraced with huge general contractors such as Okland Construction, Layton Construction, Wadsworth Construction and Jacobson Construction.  Multi-million dollar projects included Silver Star Housing Project, St. Regis Hotel site and Park City Intermountain Medical Center.  Additional large excavation projects included Relocation of Marsac Avenue in Park City, Empire Club Drive West, Quinn's Recreational Soccer Fields in Summit County, Big Sand Wash Dam in Duchesne County and I-80 Bridge in Wanship, UT.

1990s - Mine Reclamation, Public Works, Forest Service - Geary's work included the Crandall Canyon/Snake Creek project for the Utah State Forest Service; United Park City Mines reclamation of all silver mine tailings on their property, and excavation for the Park City Mines Hidden Meadows Subdivision; Summit County's West Hoytsville Slide Stabilization; Summit County's Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Chalk Creek Road; US Forest Service projects included Ladder Campground Road, Renegade Point Campground at Strawberry Reservoir and Silver Creek Waterline Project. Barrick Resources Reservation Canyon Tailing Impoundment Expansion, our largest on-going project, began in 1991 and ended in 1998 when we reclaimed the mine site and left it as we found it - just a beautiful mountain.

1980s - Excavation for Utilities, Railroad and Summit County - Barrick Resources USA Meadow Canyon site in Mercer, UT; Summit County's Chalk Creek Road Asphalt Overlay and Old Ranch Road Excavation and Paving projects; Echo Junction Channel Restoration for the Utah Dept. of Transportation; Utah Division of Water Resources and Weber Basin Water Consevancy District Ledgefork Campground and Smith & Morehouse Dam campsites, waterlines and roads.  Union Pacific Railroad, Utah Power and Light Company and Mountain Fuel Resources also became major clients.

1970s - Oil Field Excavation - building roads and locations for American Quasar, Amoco, Union Pacific Resources Co., Hamon, Exxon, Gulf and Shell.  We continue to do business in the oil fields today.

1960s - Water system excavation and sewer lines throughout Utah.

1950s - Excavation for the US Forest Service in Utah's Uintah Mountains and installation of Summit County water and sewer lines.

1940s - Start-up, Emergence of The Geary Way - Dean Geary hand-picked and personally trained all of his employees in "The Geary Way".  This meant when the crew went on a job site everyone knew how the work was to be done and everyone was accustomed to working with each other.  This training enabled Geary Construction to perform various construction techniques more effectively than most companies.  This became an important source of our competitive edge.  As newer and younger employees were hired, our more seasoned and experienced employees began passing on the skills they learned form Dean.  Everyone benefitted from his many years of practical expericence.
